Can I use it to help someone up after a fall?

Yes, that is what it is designed for. The seat sits low enough to slide in beside someone on the floor, then lifts them smoothly to a seat height of up to 56.4 cm (22.2"). If someone may be injured after a fall, call for medical help before moving them.
